Studio Reservations

Studios may be reserved when not in use by Campus Recreation and Wellness programs. Only current USA students or Registered Student Organizations, university departments, and SRC members may reserve the studios.

Studio rules

  • Only water and drinks in a re-sealable sports bottle are allowed. No food is allowed in the studios.
  • Throw away all trash and remove personal belongings.
  • Only non-marking court shoes are allowed.
  • Do not put tape or adhesives on the wood floors.

Free studio reservations

  • Studio 2 (Room 307) is available for members' use at no charge daily before 4:00pm. A member may reserve on behalf of a group comprised of USA participants only. The stereo may be used, but fitness equipment may not. Reservations open three days in advance. Reserve your hour on the .
  • Campus Recreation and Wellness may cancel a member’s free reservation any time for a Campus Recreation and Wellness event or academic program. Members will be notified via email; please make sure your email address is up-to-date in the Campus Recreation Portal.

Studio rentals

  • There is a fee for the use of Studio 1 (Room 303) and Studio 2 (Room 307) daily after 4:00pm. Fee is $25/hour for groups with USA participants ONLY.  Fee is $75/hour for groups that include non-USA participants.
  • Members may also request the use of Studio 1, Studio 2, or the Cycle Studio at other times (parties, private events, etc) for the same above fees. The fee includes use of the SouthFit equipment, microphone, and stereo system. This rental requires all participants be age 10+ and dependent hours apply. 
  • Fill out the at least one week prior to the date/time you want. Your reservation is not complete until you receive confirmation and an invoice to pay.  
  • SouthFit can also provide a private group fitness class for your USA group.  Choose from any of our current class types. Cost is $45 for up to one hour and includes the instructor and all equipment. To set up a private class, fill out our .
  • Payment of all fees is due 48 hours in advance via credit/debit card or departmental expense transfer. You may cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours in advance. There are no refunds for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance or no-shows.
  • Conducting unapproved group fitness classes without the consent of Campus Recreation and Wellness is prohibited. All outside, approved group fitness instructors that are associated with a group's private rental must submit a current Certificate of Insurance with the University of South Alabama listed as additional insured.
